Harbourtown-Eau Galle

Feb 5th we untied from our dolphins and cruised to Harbourtown Marina by Fort Pierce. We had been on the OWW (Okachobee Waterway) now we are on the St. Lucie Canal and into the St. Lucie Lock. It was easy with bow and stern ropes. They made us turn our engines off throughout all these locks in Florida. At about marker 237 we started into the ICW ( Intercoastal Waterway) going north. We fueled when we got into port. Feb 6th we cruised to Eau Gallie marina. Past Vero Beach and now we are into the Indian River. We saw a few abandoned or sunken boats. I guess it is a problem down here. People sometimes abandon their boats or sink them wherever and sometimes its hurricane damage. Once at the marina we were invited to potluck supper. Bruce and I walked downtown to see what was there and found a Chicago hotdog stand. Of course we indulged. We met many a boater there but none of them were live aboards and they all meet every wed night for a potluck. We met a cute little kitty, very friendly. No, I did not smuggle him onboard. Working on statistics for our 6 months out.
